Child Safety Standards

Last updated: July 5, 2026

1. Zero-Tolerance Policy

Flaresat has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation ("CSAE") in any form. This applies to all content and conduct on our Service, including group messages, voice and audio messages, profile pictures, map annotations, and any other user-generated content. We do not permit any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors, and we take immediate action against any account found to be involved in such activity.

2. Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on Flaresat:

  • Uploading, sharing, soliciting, or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any format, including images, video, or audio.
  • Sexualizing minors in any way, including through text, illustrations, or synthetic/AI-generated media.
  • Grooming, sextortion, or any attempt to solicit sexual content or contact from a minor.
  • Using the app's group, messaging, or location-sharing features to endanger, exploit, or coordinate harm against a minor.
  • Any other content or behavior that sexually exploits or endangers children, whether or not explicitly listed above.

3. Reporting CSAE Content or Conduct

If you encounter content or behavior on Flaresat that you believe involves child sexual abuse or exploitation, please report it immediately:

  • In the app, use the report option on the relevant message, media item, group, or user profile to flag it for review.
  • By email, contact our dedicated safety team at safety@flaresat.com with as much detail as possible (usernames, group name, timestamps, and screenshots if available).

Reports are treated as urgent and are reviewed as a priority. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement authorities directly in addition to reporting to us.

4. Our Response and Enforcement

When we receive a report or otherwise become aware of suspected CSAE content or conduct, we:

  • Review the reported content and account activity as a priority.
  • Remove any confirmed CSAM or CSAE-related content from the Service immediately.
  • Permanently ban the accounts involved and remove them from any groups.
  • Preserve relevant evidence as required by law and report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline, and to relevant law enforcement authorities, in accordance with our legal obligations, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A where applicable.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations related to child safety to the extent required or permitted by law.

5. Age Requirements

Flaresat is not directed to, and must not be used by, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or use the Service. If we become aware that a child under 13 is using the Service, we will terminate the associated account and delete the child's personal information. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how we handle this.
